What’s the best Panigale suspension setting, Progressive or Flat/Linear?
The answer to this of course is the best setup is the one that is best for you, but below we provide some general direction!
Changing between Flat/Linear to Progressive changes the way the suspension/spring reacts to bumps and weight changes. As the name suggests the Flat/Linear setting means that the spring “pushes” back at the same rate throughout the range of wheel travel. Flat/Linear setting can make the setup feel very hard at slow speeds and on bumpy roads, but on the race track its more consistent and predictable. Also, when the suspension compresses through greater wheel travel it can push back harder potentially upsetting balance. Conversely with a Progressive setup you can start with a slightly “softer” initial spring load and have an increasing rate of resistance as the suspension compresses through its travel.
Our Long & Short rods are both adjustable so the ride height can be set at your desired level with either and they can both have adjustment up or down from standard by approximately 20mm and this is independent of the Progressive or Linear suspension changes.
The SHORT ROD length used with the flat and medium suspension settings is typically used for more aggressive riding where you split time between track days and race tracks or street riding on smooth roads.
The LONG ROD length used with the Progressive suspension settings is typically used for everyday street riding and also if you ride with a passenger.
